Brownies


1 C butter or margarine, soft
2 C sugar
2 tsp vanilla
4 eggs
3/4 C cocoa
1 C flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 C chopped nuts (optional)

Cream butter, sugar, vanilla and eggs.  Stir in remaining ingredients until smooth.  Pour into greased 9 x 13 pan and bake for 30-35 minutes at 350F.
